design philosophy

“The purpose of architecture is to evoke emotion and contribute to the richness and diversity of human experience.”

- Frank lloyd wright

They say we spend about 90% of our lives indoors. Whether it be in elementary school or the workforce, the built environment impacts our lives in ways that we are only just beginning to understand. As the design world continues to evolve in ways that expand our knowledge and emphasis on well-being, sustainability, and our impact on future generations, it becomes ever more clear that we as designers need to be stewards of our people, our planet, and our buildings.

As an individual, I have seen and felt the effects of the built environment. As an emerging designer, I have developed a deep love for and desire to understand just how the built environment plays this role. I believe that with every new discovery and heightened sense of responsibility to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of people, planet, and place, the interior design industry will continue to maintain its impact on the human experience.

My name is Carly Brannon and I am a senior Interior Design student at Anderson University, graduating in May 2024. Throughout my academic career, I have developed a deep love for commercial design with an emphasis on human wellbeing through the built environment. Upon graduation, I am eagerly seeking a full-time commercial design career in North Carolina.
